Sutton Council's Character Appraisal & Management Plan If you love Carshalton, and care about it's unique and historic features, then please do get involved in planning for the longer term future of the area. The Board of Trustees of The Friends of Honeywood Museum received a most interesting, and thought-provoking, presentation from Duncan Clarke (Sutton's Strategic Planning Manager) and his colleague Dean James at a meeting this evening, and we were encouraged by what we heard, and will be responding formally in due course.
Please note the dates in the image above right. Find Sutton Council's Consultation page HERE. If you find it easier, read the Council's Consultation Document 'on screen' (we think it makes very interesting reading) or download it to save and read later or over time HERE. Then respond from the bottom of Sutton Council's Consultation page HERE. We’re delighted to announce that, after several years’ absence, Frank Dickinson’s wonderful painting from 1940 Bomb incident in Carshalton High Street will be re-hung at Honeywood Museum during the afternoon of Friday 21 June. The Friends of Honeywood Museum have funded the re-framing of the painting to museum standards, and it’s return to Honeywood coincides with the start of Carshalton Artists Open Studios weekends 22/23 and 29/30 June which focus on Frank Dickinson’s work at Little Holland House, Honeywood and elsewhere. Greetings Cards of the image will be available to purchase at the Museum’s Shop. Updated 21 June - We're delighted to inform our visitors that our recent electrical problems have been resolved and full access to the Museum has now been restored. Thank you for your patience.
Updated 18 June We're working as hard as possible with our contractors to remedy this issue, the cause of which has now been identified. We very much hope to have the matter rectified by Friday 21 June. Due to an electrical fault, there is currently no public access to the upper floor in the Museum. This also means that there is no Wi-Fi on site. We are trying to respond to emails sent to Honeywood as quickly as possible, but please be aware that there may be a delay in replying to you. The fault could also make our telephone reception more difficult than usual. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused by this, and are working to resolve the fault as quickly as possible. The ground floor is open, with the new exhibition of art works by Horace Mann Livens and a last chance to see the Women in the Frame exhibition. For family visitors, we have moved our wooden Brio railway and some other toys downstairs. The Tea Room is open as usual. Not everyone may be in a position to read the new interpretation boards recently installed in Beddington Park, which offer a great insight into the park's heritage. To help more people enjoy...
