Concerns raised over the future of the Old Rectory

Carshalton Old Rectory Association (CORA) have today raised concerns over the future of the Grade II* Listed building.

Situated in Festival Walk, alongside Honeywood Museum, the building has a rich history surrounding its long-standing place in the heart of Carshalton's Heritage Conservation Area.

Further details, and a brief synopsis of the current situation may be found here, on CORA's Website.

You may wish to act on the information given and play your part is preserving this wonderful piece of Carshaton's heritage.

An evening of live Music at Honeywood Museum

Maggie Cooper (Soprano), Keziah Thomas (Harp) and Elizabeth Andrews (Cello) will perform a selection of popular music including Britten Folk Songs, Manuel de Falla’s Siete canciones populares españolas and Bachianas Brasilieras by Villa Lobos.

Tickets are £20 and will include a glass of wine and nibbles

A fascinating talk has been added to our Events page, and one which will be of huge interest to the past and present students of Sutton High School, their families, friends and descendants, and very many others across the Borough who will be intrigued, touched and more than occasionally amused at Sue James's account of the school's wonderful history and how it grew into its prominent place in what is now the London Borough of Sutton.

History of the Old Rectory - now available in our shop

Published in December 2018, Sue Horne's 'A Respectable Parsonage House' looks in detail at the history of the Old Rectory in Carshalton's historic and much-loved conservation area and the people who lived there over very many years.

Priced at £7.00 per copy, this book is now available from the shop at Honeywood Museum or can be ordered immediately by printing, completing and posting this Order Form together with a cheque.

The intimate environment in historic Honeywood Museum restricts the numbers we are able to make available to those who wish to attend.
