The Annual General Meeting of The Friends of Honeywood Museum was scheduled to take place on Thursday 25 June.
The Trustees have agreed that in the current difficult circumstances the business of this year’s AGM will be conducted by post. All members will receive the necessary papers at the beginning of July. We've added a new Click'n'Colour image, and new Click'n'Search puzzle (based on Croydon Aerodrome and Roundshaw) and another Click'n'Puzzle game to challenge you - all on our Pastimes page! Hope you enjoy them!!
We acknowledged the 75th Anniversary of VE Day on 8 May 2020, and throughout the week following, by placing the images below on our Home page. The Friends of Honeywood Museum Trustees have agreed that, in the current circumstances, the AGM will be postponed to a future date. We will fix the date when the easing of restrictions permits.
The Tea Room at Honeywood Museum is now open for take-away, weather permitting, from 09:00-16:00 daily. Social-distancing is observed by queuing to be served from the Tea Room entrance. Great enterprise; please do support them.
We remember those of Carshalton with enormous gratitude.
In addition to this stirring image of Carshalton's War Memorials on our Home page, we have added two Click'n'Puzzle versions of the same image to our Pastimes page. One Easy (24 pieces) and one trickier (48 pieces). #VEDay75 The Memorial to those who fell in World War 2 is nearest the camera. We’ve added a third Click’n’Colour image, a new 'Carshalton Pubs' Click’n’Search word-search (and the answers to our second) and a lovely new Click’n’Puzzle jigsaw (easy and trickier versions) to our family Pastimes page! We hope you enjoy them.....

We have now contacted everyone who had bought tickets for our cancelled May talk by Ann Morton, Doctors, Dirt & Disease. Thank you for your understanding and helpfulness. A huge thank you to those who have donated their ticket payments rather than take refunds. Amazing generosity, and so very much appreciated.
We are very much hoping that Ann will re-schedule her talk for us in 2021. With immediate effect all further updates will be posted on this our Latest News page.

Links to our Coronavirus Information page will be deleted on Saturday 18 April. The page will, for those who may wish to revisit it, remain as an archive for a while, and be accessible from here. A happy Easter to our Friends, visitors, volunteers and staff - we're missing you all very much, and hope it will not be too long before we see you again.
Event Bookings Update: Whilst the Museum is closed, Susan, our Talks Secretary, would be very grateful if you made bookings for Friends' Events by telephone to 020 8642 4778, and not by post. A list of bookings is being maintained in the order they are booked, and Susan will be in touch with people nearer the time regarding payment. Many thanks.
Whilst the Museum is closed we will be updating the information related to planned events as and when we receive it. Some events cancelled may appear again at a later date, others may just be postponed to the revised date indicated. We look forward to the resumption of our normal service and schedule of events.
Sutton's Heritage Service has advised that Honeywood Museum will be closed until further notice:
"As the new focus is now on delaying the spread of Covid-19 in the community so that our health services can cope with increased demand during the epidemic, we have taken the difficult decision to close our heritage houses with immediate effect. This includes Whitehall Historic House, Honeywood Museum, and Little Holland House. The houses will not be open on Wednesday 18 March 2020 and will reopen at a date to be advised."
We're pleased to inform our visitors that a portable baby-changing stand is available.
Please ask at the front desk. |
