We've just added a number of new events over the Christmas and New Year period and beyond to our Events page! Some need booking, so do get in early to avoid disappointment. Look out for the Carshalton Frost Fair details......... and please note the new booking arrangements for our February Honeywood Mini Explorers event for youngsters aged 6-10. Bookings for our February, March and April illustrated talks are now being taken. John Phillips' talk in February is already proving extremely popular.

Covering 28 unmissable heritage venues in and around Carshalton's Conservation Area, our new full-colour Carshalton Heritage Walk leaflet is now available in our shop. Priced at just 20p this has be to one of the best value guides available of its kind! The suggested route starts and finishes at Honeywood Museum, so a coffee before and a tea at the end make this a perfect short walk. Available while stocks last. We still have a limited number of tickets available for our Black History Month talk on Wednesday 24 October at 19:30. Black British Civil Rights Heroines rarely feature in discussing matters relating to Civil Rights; this talk is likely to reveal a lot about past prejudices and what we may have learnt from them. Tony Warner's presentation will provide the names and achievements of those black women born or resident here that fought against British racism over the last 300 years. We are delighted to say that we will be joined by members of the Black Cultural Archives based in Windrush Square, Brixton. 'Phone Sue on 020 8642 4778 to book tickets. £5 (£4 Friends), which includes tea/coffee from 19:00. Please be aware that on Thursday 18 October Honeywood Museum will open at 13:00 rather than 11:00 to facilitate staff training. Our Tea Room will be open as usual.
Sutton Council have informed us that Honeywood Museum will be closed from Sunday 23 December to Tuesday 1 January inclusive this year.
New Little Holland House events have now been added. Some require booking through Honeywood Museum. Please do so soonest if you wish to attend.
Somewhat later than we had hoped, we are delighted to welcome you to our new Website. Unanticipated technical issues have had to be resolved, and we thank our hosting partners at 34SP for their perseverance behind the scenes in resolving them.
Hopefully you will find it clearer and easier to navigate than our old site, especially if you view it on mobile devices. We've gone for clarity over gizmos and have endeavoured to make sure all the most essential information about Honeywood Museum is easy to find. We have quite a substantial amount of archive material to transfer from our old site which we started in 2006. This will be added over coming weeks (months!!). Memories, Previous Events and Transport in particular. Our Archaeology and Shop pages are currently under review, and we are discussing how best to make them available in the future. Please do bookmark us and pop in from time to time to see What's On at Honeywood Museum. |
