Rain

The jungle at the end of the rectangular pond after clearance has started. A long way to go.

We had a garden session on Wednesday which was ended by heavy rain about noon. I think this is the first rain-off that we have had: we have been remarkably lucky weather so far.
 
The brief session did allow time to clear some weeds and also to start clearing a path to the end of the rectangular pond in the back corner of the garden. Parts of this are the oldest structure in the garden and it is now almost totally overgrown. We didn’t start work on this earlier because the springs were flowing strongly and the bottom of the pond was partly flooded. 

There is still water in the culvert under Honeywood but the level has dropped and the pond floor now looks damp rather than sodden. I hope to resume the clearance next session.
